For
the
last
few
years,
Kenneth
Montgomery
Keillor
has
been
the primary
caregiver for his most beloved and beautiful mom as she suffered
through dementia and manifold physical disabilities. Ken's mom had
faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and she went to Heaven on August
22, 2010. Below is a song he composed in loving memory of his mom.
Mom - Florence Marion Tungehaug
I
want
to
thank
you
Jesus
for
saving
my
mom
Now she's up in heaven where she
belongs
She's happy and she's smiling, walking
those streets of gold
She's young and she's beautiful and
will never grow old
She's laughing and she's lovely in the
presence of the Lord
She's safe and she's free, forevermore
Where do I start to tell you about her
Poetess and princess and philosopher
Generous and gentle and compassionate
The sweetest person that I ever met
Talented and creative beyond compare
Not to mention seamstress and chef
extraordinaire
Whenever you needed her, she was there
And you always knew that she
cared
Her name was Florence, and a flower
she was
Just like an angel from above
And if you hear me honey, I love you
forever
And soon we'll be together again
