God came into this world in the person of Jesus Christ, the second person of the 'trinity', and loved us enough to pay for our sins with His own blood.
The only way to be saved for eternity is to trust in Jesus as our Savior and repent of our sins. Outside of this, there is no salvation.

Bible Prophecy and The Future

* --- Welcome to kennethmontgomerykeillor.com --- I hope you are watching events in the Middle East with as much fascination as I am. --- It is all leading up to the invasion of Israel by the Russian, Arabic, Islamic alliance. --- It will be a nuclear war. Russia loses. --- The 'Rapture' will happen one of these days. It occurs shortly before the identity of the 'Antichrist' world dictator is revealed to the world. --- All true Christians will be snatched away by God to Heaven for about 7 years. --- As aforementioned, there will be an evil world government ruled by a world dictator. The Bilderberg group and others are working hard to put it together. --- This world dictator is commonly referred to as the 'Antichrist'. --- There will also be a false world religious leader. The Bible calls him the 'False Prophet'. --- Jesus casts them both into Hell when He returns. --- Humanity will be required to receive a mark in their right hand or forehead. --- Possibly a microchip or the new EES Epidermal Electronic System. --- Without it, they won't be able to buy or sell. --- The Bible calls it the 'Mark of the Beast'. --- All who accept the mark will go to Hell. --- The Antichrist will arrange a 7 year peace treaty for the Middle East. --- The 7 year 'Tribulation' period begins with the Antichrist signing this peace treaty with Israel. --- A new Jewish temple will be built and the sacrifices and oblations to God re-instated. --- If I'm reading Bible prophecy correctly, Russia, Iran and their allies invade Israel half way through the 7 years. --- In any case, the 7 year agreement is violated by the Antichrist after 3 and one half years (42 months). The temple sacrifices are halted. --- Around this time, scripture seems to indicate that the Antichrist will be killed. --- Satan will revive him and all the world will wonder after him and worship him. --- The Antichrist stands in the temple declaring himself to be God. --- An 'image' of the Antichrist is placed in the temple speaking blasphemies against God. --- A scriptural argument can also be made for the Russian invasion of Israel occurring shortly before or after the 'Rapture' and before the 7 year 'Tribulation' period. --- This means the Russia-Israel war could be even closer than a lot of people think. --- At some point, Syria will be smashed as well. --- I don't know if this is during the same war or a different one. --- After Russia's defeat, China and it's allies march into the Middle East. --- Another wave of nuclear war kills one third of humankind. --- By the end of the 7 years, the Antichrist and whichever armies remain prepare to descend upon Israel. --- This is when Jesus Christ comes from Heaven with the raptured Christians and sets foot on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. --- The mountain splits in half under His feet and there is a great earthquake. --- The Antichrist's forces turn their guns on Him. (Rev. 19:19) --- Jesus destroys them all and begins His eternal reign on the earth. --- There is a lot more detail in the Bible. --- This is just a brief overview of what's coming. --- The original, unaltered Bible is the true and only Word of God. I recommend the old King James version. --- To back its claims, the Bible has told the future with perfect accuracy for thousands of years. --- Jesus is God Himself come in the flesh, the second person of the 'Trinity'. --- Tell God you repent of your sins and trust in Jesus as your Saviour and you will be saved. --- The alternative is to die lost in your sins and go to Hell forever. --- I hope you make the right decision. --- Jesus loves you. --- *

How Will They Know

How will they know If someone doesn't tell them That Jesus Christ is God And they'll go to Hell without Him He paid for their sins With His blood on the cross And if they reject Him They will surely die lost Lost in their sins for all eternity And only Jesus Christ could have set them free Mohammed's in Hell and the Buddha died lost Because they didn't bow down At the foot of the cross And Oprah will tell you any way is ok But she'll burn in Hell one of these fine days i praise you Jesus You're my Savior and my King And forever and a day Your praises I will sing As the world keeps lusting after every desire And they're on their way to the Lake of Fire The mockers keep mocking and blasphemers blaspheme Until they go to Hell and they howl and scream And they thought it was a party And their friends would be there But when they arrive, they won't find them anywhere Just demons in the darkness and some tortured souls And all the lies they loved that the devil told They've died in their sins and themselves they condemn And even in Hell, God will always love them

Seventh-Day Adventist Cult

Facts Seventh-day Adventists Won't Tell You Seventh-day Adventists won't tell you they are behind the "Revelation Seminars" they sponsor. They act all" interdenominational" if questioned. Watch out for these SDA outreaches as well: Voice of Prophecy, Faith for Today, It is Written, The Quiet Hour, Amazing Facts etc. They also hide behind Heath oriented shows on the networks, and sponsor stop-smoking clinics etc, all as introductions to Seventh-day Adventism. Often, the only tip-off that what you are reading originates with them is that it is published by "Pacific Press". They produce bright and colorful Children's books, often seen in medical and dental offices, and of course, unsuspecting Church libraries. They very much want to be perceived as Evangelical Christians, seeking a place on the ministerial fellowships. All this is good PR for them, but what do they really believe? What facts won't they tell you? They won't tell you that they consider themselves to be the only, true, remnant Church. Their prophetess, Ellen G. White, whom they revere and believe without question has told them that "...Satan has taken full possession of the Churches". (Spiritual Gifts V.l,p.189-90) They also believe our prayers are an "abomination" to God. (Spiritual Gifts, V1 p.190). That is what they think of you and your church, even if they won't say it out loud in public, or to your face. They revere their founding prophetess, Ellen G. White, and made this statement in their "Ministry" Magazine of Oct. 1981 and have never retracted it: "We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality. The superintendence of the Holy Spirit was just as careful and thorough in one case as in the other". They won't tell you too much about Ellen G. White at their public seminars, but their goal is to bring the person attending to the point of conversion and baptism. Their 2000 baptismal certificate poses questions to which the candidate must answer "yes". Question 8 says, "Do you accept the biblical teaching of spiritual gifts and believe that the gift of prophecy is one of the identifying marks of the remnant church". If the candidate says "yes" and is baptised, they soon learn that the "gift of prophecy" is Ellen G. White's writings. Point 13 has them accepting that the SDA Church is the remnant church of Bible Prophecy. They have been baptized into an exclusive group, but they don't know how exclusive it is, yet! No doubt they will be urged to avail themselves of a "Clear Word Bible". This publication of theirs has inserted the words and doctrines of Ellen G. White right into the Bible text, insuring that the person studying it will have the mind of Ellen G. White. Slowly, but surely, the new SDA will come to believe these extra-biblical doctrines that set the SDA church apart from Evangelical Christianity. Doctrine on Christ Seventh-day Adventists, in the early days, denied the Trinity, but now they accept it. However, they have "leftovers" from this heresy. Ellen G. White wrote in Patriarchs and Prophets, page 761, "...He (Jesus) was revealed to them as the Angel of Jehovah, the Captain of the Lord's Host, Michael the Archangel". Adventists, you can't have it both ways! Either Jesus Christ is God, or He is some kind of an Angel. You can't talk out of both sides of your mouth to try to cover up embarrassing statements by Ellen G. White. They won't tell you she was wrong - when its "her or the Bible", she always wins! Doctrines on Salvation If you receive Christ as your Saviour through the SDA's, only your past sins, up to that moment are forgiven. Now you must get to work to earn your salvation. Ellen G. White said in the Advent Review and Sabbath Herald of 10-26-1897 this statement, "...The terms of salvation for every son and daughter of Adam are here outlined. It is plainly stated that the condition of gaining eternal life is obedience to the commandments of God". Of course, it is the fourth commandment that is stressed, since Ellen saw this one glowing in one of her visions. Salvation now becomes dependent on which day of the week one observes. Modern Adventists keep sundown Friday to sundown Saturday as the Sabbath, but earlier in their history they kept 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday. The rest of us "Sunday keepers" are doomed to receive the "mark of the beast" and lose our eternal life. (The Spirit of Prophecy V. 4, p. 505). They sure don't say this at their seminars! Christ exclaimed "It is finished" when He died for our sins, but it is not finished in Seventh-day Adventism! EGW wrote in "The Faith I Live By" p. 211, "At the time appointed for the judgement - the close of the 2300 days, in 1844&endash;began the work of investigation and blotting out of sins...both the living and the dead are to be judged "out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works". (Rev. 20:12". People are never told at Seminars that if they become SDA's and are baptized, a recording angel is watching their every move to determine their salvation eventually. EGW issues this warning in The Faith I Live By, page 210, "Every man's work passes in review before God...Opposite each name in the books of heaven is entered, with terrible exactness, every wrong word, every selfish act, every unfulfilled duty, and every secret sin, with every artful dissembling. Heaven-sent warnings or reproofs neglected, wasted moments, unimproved opportunities, the influence exerted for good or for evil, with its far-reaching results, all are chronicled by the recording angel." It's not much fun being an Adventist and being watched constantly by that recording angel with his "terrible exactness". Prepare to become very uptight. Christians will say, "sure we slip sometimes into unintentional sin, but we have a mediator in Christ Jesus". No, you don't in Seventh-day Adventism. Be prepared for this SDA doctrine by Ellen G. White: "...Those who are living on the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent effort they must be conquerors in the battle with evil....". (The Great Controversy p. 425). Obviously they have chosen EGW's doctrine over that stated in the Bible in Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them". Where would we all be without Christ as our mediator, EVER making intercession for us? Christ bore our own sins in his body on the tree according to the Bible. 1 Peter 2:24 says, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree...". Become a SDA, and it will be Satan who will eventually bear your sins! Ellen G. White wrote, "...so Christ will place all these sins upon Satan, the originator and instigator of sin...so Satan, bearing the guilt of all the sins which he has caused God's people to commit, will be for a thousand years confined to the earth, which will then be desolate...".(The Great Controversy p. 485). You won't hear this one at the Seminars! They keep their radical teachings for later. False Prophecies You Won't be Told About Seventh-day Adventism grew despite endorsing a false date for Christ's return. What a dubious beginning! Ellen G. White endorsed a false prophecy by William Miller that Christ would return, first in 1843 and then 1844. Miller repented when Christ didn't show up on his date but Ellen didn't want to be viewed as a false prophetess for endorsing him through her visions. The idea was concocted by one of her followers that the date was right, but the event was wrong. Ellen eagerly accepted this "out", and this explanation was offered to explain away the false prophecy: Christ didn't come visibly to earth, but He, invisibly, in heaven, changed compartments from the Holy to the Most Holy in 1844 and began the work of "investigative judgment" that we have discussed previously. This false date and its failure triggered other heresies on the atonement of Christ which continues to this day. Honest-hearted SDA's who have pointed out the error of the 1844 investigative judgment have been shown the door by their Conference. You sure won't be told the true history behind the 1844 doctrine by SDA's! Embarrassing false prophecies by EGW have been, altered, covered up, and locked up by the SDA's. You won't be told about them, but here are a couple. One false prophecy done in the name of the Lord marks that one as a false prophet (See Deut. chapter 18). Ellen G. White said people alive in 1856 would be translated at the 2nd coming of Jesus. (Testimonies, V1, p 131,132). She said in Testimonies for the Church, Volume 1, p. 259, that the United States would be "...humbled into the dust" by England during the Civil War. No wonder Jesus told us to "Beware of the false prophets". Time is their enemy. These false prophecies will never be mentioned by the SDA's. Cult Links You won't be told at the SDA Seminars about the things they have in common with the Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons. SDA's share their early history with the Jehovah's Witnesses. An early Adventist, N. H. Barbour co-published with Charles Taze Russell. They had a falling out over (what else?) dates for the end of the world! (1844 and 1874), and parted company. Both, however, kept heretical doctrines to this day like Jesus being Michael the Archangel, the denial of Hell, and both still advocate soul sleep. Both invented invisible occurrences in heaven for their failed dates for Christ's visible return, investigative judgment for the SDA's and Christ's invisible "presence" for Jehovah's Witnesses. There is Mormon link also for the SDA's. It is a proven fact that Ellen G. White plagiarized most of her writings. The Church has been challenged by Walter Rea, author of the White Lie to prove that even 20% of her writings are original. They can't. Their weak defense was that there were no copyright laws in Ellen's day, so what she did was legal. You will never be told of her plagiarism by the SDA's. As Ellen was rising to prominence, Joseph Smith had just died. Her writings contain many phrases used by Joseph Smith. Mind you, he has also been accused of plagiarism. I have a thick file of similarities, but time does not permit details at this time, but it does illustrate just how far her "borrowing" went. You will definitely not be told of her similarities to Joseph Smith at the Seminars! Consulting the Dead You really won't be told about Ellen G. White's engaging in necromancy, communication with the dead, expressly forbidden by God in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 "There shall not be found among you anyone...who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord..." This particular necromancy occurred after the death of her husband James, whom she called "Father". She recounts the experience in a letter to her son published in "The Retirement Years" p. 161 - 163. She begins her letter by stating that she was seeking God regarding her future, "A few days since I was pleading with the Lord for light in regard to my duty"... It is evident she believed this dream was in response to her prayers to God. James (whom she called "Father") appeared beside her as she was in a carriage. She reported he looked "very pale, but calm and composed". (After all, he was dead!) She says, "...I saw you die; I saw you buried. Has the Lord pitied me and let you come back...?" We are not to have conversations with the dead, but Ellen and James converse back and forth about church matters and their health. At one point James foretells the future for Ellen, "...Now, Ellen, calls will be made as they have been, desiring you to attend important meetings...". James, her dead husband, goes on to tell her she must avoid taxing her strength by going to meetings and retire and write instead. He tells her "...Make this your first business". Ellen now makes an agreement with her dead husband to stay in touch, "Well, said I, James you are always to stay with me now and we will work together". This would involve further communication with the dead. Ellen recounts that she then awoke and took the whole matter as being from the Lord in these words, "...I feel no duty to go to Battle Creek...I have no duty to stand in General Conference. THE LORD FORBIDS ME. That is enough." Well, that is enough to conclude, not only the letter, but the fact that Ellen consulted the dead and took it all as coming from the Lord. She indicated she wanted to continue this practice. Can we trust this dream? No, of course not. How then are we to trust her other 200 or so "inspired by God" dreams and visions that occurred over her lifetime? We can't, if we judge matters by the word of God. You won't be told EGW practised necromancy at the Seminars! Assorted Silliness Often, cult research is tedious and boring. I am grateful to EGW for being humorous, ridiculous, and just plain silly. Her writings bearing her name are 17 times as long as the Bible&endash;plagiarized or not. Many of them have to do with her doctrines on health and food. As an SDA you will be encouraged to become a vegetarian. Ellen indicated that your salvation could be dependent on giving up meat . No meat-eaters will be "translated" at Christ's coming (Counsels on Diet and Foods p. 380). You won't be told this scripture by SDA's "...he who is weak in faith eats vegetables only..." (Romans 14:2). (Fun to read to vegetarians). She taught in Counsels on Diet ..on p. 390 (some editions) that "...if we subsist largely upon the flesh of dead animals, we shall partake of their nature". Partake of their nature? This is against God's creation laws of "kind", and Impossible. Also conveniently forgotten is Paul view, "Eat anything that is sold in the meat market, without asking questions for conscience' sake." ( 1 Cor. 10:25). Obviously no vegetarians evident in the early church! Most of EGW's concerns over diet were in an effort to control what she considered to be an excessive sex drive in the male. She devoted endless pages to discussing "secret vice" (masturbation) and blamed the practice for a wide range of diseases. Here, in "Solemn Appeal" page 12 are a few of the diseases said to be caused by "secret vice" "...dyspepsia, spinal complaint, headache, epilepsy, impaired eyesight, palpitation of the heart, pain in the side, bleeding at the lungs, spasms of the heart and lungs, diabetes, incontinence of urine, fluor albus or whites, inflammation of the urinary organs... rheumatism, affected perspiration, consumption, asthma, catarrah, polypus of the heart, affection of the bones, fevers, ..etc. etc. The cure for secret vice was even funnier. The perpetrator was to sit in a sitz bath at as low a temperature as possible. At the same time, he was to have a hot foot bath, while applying cold cloths to his forehead. He was also to wear an abdominal bandage or wet girdle at night "to good advantage". She concludes, "Cool bathing of the parts affected is also beneficial". To those SDA's who write me that I must be endorsing masturbation by making this public, let me assure you that this is not the case. Why don't they charge their leader with the same accusation? She wrote about it much more than I ever have! I am merely exposing her silliness in health matters. You'll never hear these ridiculous topics from the Adventists! Thanks to Ellen White's influence, the Kellogg brothers were inspired to develop cold corn flakes, as hot porridge could "heat the blood" with undesirable results! She sternly warned against using feather beds for the same reasons, but I found a letter from her asking someone to send her her featherbed! (EGW Vol 3, p. 341). She also developed a "reform dress" on instructions from God, which was a bulky affair with pants under a long dress. She gave up on wearing hers finally, and so did the other women, after years of suffering discomfort. Other assorted nonsense included Angels needing golden cards as gate passes to get in and out of heaven. (Early Writings p. 37-39), She also "travelled" to other planets in her visions, and also claimed to have met Enoch (more necromancy). (EGW: The Early Years Vol.1 p. 114; p.157). She taught that certain races of men are the result of amalgamation between man and beast. (SG Vol 3, p. 64,75). Which races? You won't be told this one at the Seminars, or even later! Her silliness extended to wigs as well. Any woman daring to wear one would "...lose their reason and go hopelessly insane". (Christian Mothers, # 2, p. 121). Well, that's about enough of the silliness. We could go on, but won't. In conclusion, it is amazing to me that the SDA Church reveres Ellen G. White, choosing her visions, dreams, doctrines and teachings above the Bible. Other women had better run for cover, however, as they wouldn't dream of ordaining a woman in their denomination which is totally male dominated. Adventists love to quote Walter Martin who was "had" by them as a young man and believed their statements without checking matters out closely, to prove they are not a cult. However, before he died, he made this statement on the John Ankerberg Show: "I fear that if they continue to progress at this rate, then the classification of a cult can't possibly miss being reapplied to Seventh-day Adventism, because once you have an interpreter of Scripture, a final court of appeal that tells you what Scripture means, as soon as you judge Scripture by that, as soon as you have someone who has made doctrinal errors in the past, even on the deity of Christ and the doctrine of the atonement and other things, and that person is raised to that position or authority, you have polarization around that person". By their own actions and stubborn clinging to Ellen G. White, her extra-biblical teachings, visions, and doctrines, the Seventh-day Adventists have placed themselves in the category of a cult. They certainly won't tell you this fact! They are a cult! IN CONCLUSION SDA's often make every effort to appear "evangelical", joining in with inter-ministry groups and trying to "blend in" with the Christian community. However, make no mistake about it, they believe they are exclusively correct because they recognize and follow Ellen G. White. Among themselves, they mock the Christian's beliefs, calling our concept of salvation, "cheap grace". They privately consider themselves to be spiritually superior to the rest of us. Is Seventh Day Adventism A Cult?

By David Webb

There are now two distinct camps in Adventism. The split became apparent in the late 1970’s when "pastors" of many years' standing began to question their prophetess, Ellen G. White. They began to question her peculiar doctrines which could not be supported fully by the Scriptures. Many were disillusioned by the revelation of her plagiarism, which was very extensive, and documented in the book, "The White Lie" by former SDA "pastor," Walter Rea.

The hundreds of "pastors" who questioned Ellen White as an absolute authority and discovered the cover-up by the White Estate, soon found themselves on the outside, still trying to bring about reform from that disadvantaged position. Two camps quickly formed, those loyal to Ellen White, and those determined to be loyal to the Bible above all else.

Those loyal to Ellen White published statements such as those contained in the "Ministry" Magazine of October, 1981. Ron Graybill, who was the assistant secretary of the Ellen G. White Estate at that time, made this statement on page 8, "We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality.  The superintendence of the Holy Spirit was just as careful and thorough in one case as in the other." Graybill, however, went on to state that..."we dare not use Ellen White as the final arbiter in matters of doctrine." In later years, he resigned his position.

The Seventh-Day Adventist church "felt the heat," and formed several councils to look into Ellen White's peculiar doctrines. They spent months in discussion, published endless papers, but to this day have not corrected Ellen White's views. Therefore, since an adequate time period has passed for these issues to be corrected by the church, we must again take a look at Adventism as it stands today and decide if it is a cult?

Some SDA Beliefs are Scriptural

When a person is baptized as a SDA they receive a "Certificate of Profession of Faith" after signing a thirteen-point statement entitled "My Commitment." Few would take issue with the first five points.  However, by point six, we find that the doctrinal position of the SDA differs significantly from what the scriptures teach. (Click here to see the Official SDA Baptismal Vows.)

·  Point six reads, "I accept the Ten Commandments as still binding upon Christians, and it is my purpose by the power of the indwelling Christ, to keep this law, including the fourth commandment, which requires the observance of the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath of the Lord."

·  Point eight has the convert confessing, "that the gift of prophecy is one of the identifying marks of the remnant church."

·  Point ten requires the convert to commit themselves to "abstaining from all unclean foods." (Contrary to what Paul said about foods: 1 Tim 4:1-5)

·  Point thirteen identifies the Seventh-Day Adventist Church as the "remnant church of Bible Prophecy."

Of course, these doctrines are all the teachings of Ellen G. White.

As the convert examines their baptismal booklet under the heading "Fundamental Beliefs of Seventh-Day Adventists," the beliefs that cause others to conclude the SDA church is a cult become apparent.

·  Under heading 17, "The Gift of Prophecy," we find this statement "This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White. As the Lord's messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church, comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction."

·  Under heading 19, "The Sabbath" we are told that (God)..."instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation." The fourth commandment of God's unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath...It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God's Kingdom. The Sabbath is God's perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people."

·  Heading 23 becomes even more of a deviation. Entitled, "Christ's Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary", it contains this information: "He (Christ) was inaugurated as our great High Priest and began His intercessory ministry at the time of His ascension. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry. It is a work of investigative judgment which is part of the ultimate disposition of all sin, typified by the cleansing of the ancient Hebrew sanctuary on the Day of Atonement."

Other headings cover such subjects as diet, a view of death as an unconscious state, and foot-washing. We can see from this quick review just what it is that makes Adventism contrary to true Biblical teaching.

Sabbath-Keeping

Seventh-Day Adventists strive to keep "THE LAW" of the Old Testament. They place emphasis on the Ten Commandments as "the Law," when in fact the Ten Commandments form only a small part of the entire Law. Sabbath-keeping is greatly stressed as a requirement for salvation in this extremely legalistic group.

SDA's have a habit of thinking "Ten Commandments" or "Sabbath" every time the Bible mentions "The Law." This is simply not true. The word "Law" occurs over 400 times in Scripture, and refers to the entire Law, comprising ceremonial feasts, special days, sacrifices, dietary restrictions, cleansings etc. The term never applies solely to either the Ten Commandments or the Sabbath alone.

Realistically speaking, no Seventh-Day Adventist TRULY keeps "The Law." Where are their blood sacrifices? Do they heat their houses on Saturday? They are all Law-breakers if they carefully and honestly examine their lives in light of the entire Law. The Bible makes no distinction regarding the Law – that some parts are "ceremonial" as the SDA's claim, a claim designed to avoid truly keeping the Law in its entirety.

The Law was for The Nation of Israel Only

Regarding the Ten Commandments, Exodus 20:2 states, "I am the Lord your God, who BROUGHT YOU OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT, out of the house of slavery."

The Ten Commandments were obviously given to those who had been brought out of the land of Egypt. This would limit the Ten Commandments to God's chosen people, the Israelites, the Jews.

Deuteronomy 5:3 shows that the Law was binding on those Israelites or Jews alive in MOSES' day. "The LORD did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, with all those of us alive here today." Therefore, this covenant was NOT made with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, etc. as claimed by SDA's.

Seventh-Day Adventists make the Sabbath of extreme importance in their plan of salvation. Yet, Deuteronomy 5:15 applies it only to the Jews: "And you shall remember that YOU WERE A SLAVE IN THE LAND OF EGYPT and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; THEREFORE the LORD your God commanded you to OBSERVE THE SABBATH DAY."

Notice that the Sabbath was a special covenant for those people delivered from bondage in Egypt. (see also Ezekiel 20:10-12; Exodus 31:12-18; Exodus 16:29; Nehemiah 9:13-14.)

Is the Sabbath a Memorial of Creation?

It is true that Genesis 23 says God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, but there was no command to memorialize it in remembrance of creation. The command to keep the Sabbath day went only to those who were slaves in Egypt. There is no biblical record of the Sabbath being kept in the interim between creation and the days of Moses. Why? Obviously because it was not commanded to be kept.

Read all the scripture reference given by the SDA's regarding Sabbath-keeping, and notice that all commands to keep the Sabbath are Old Testament ones to the children of Israel. The passage from Isaiah 56:5-6, has no reference to the Sabbath at all, but refers to a "memorial NAME", not a DAY. The New Testament references are not commands to keep the Sabbath. (Gen. 21-2; Ex. 20:8-11; Luke 4:16; Isa. 56:5-6; 581:3,14; Matt. 12:1-12; Ex. 31:13-17; Ezek.4:16; 20:12-20; Deut. 5:12-15; Heb. 4:1-11; Lev. 23:32; Mark 1:32).

Is the Sabbath "Ceremonial"?

Seventh-Day Adventists get around keeping all the points of the Law by claiming some are "ceremonial" and don't require strict observance, but in their understanding the Sabbath does require strict observance. Leviticus, chapter 23 lists several "holy convocations." The first mentioned is the Sabbath. The chapter goes on to list other "holy convocations," namely the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened bread, the Wave offering, the Feast of Booths, etc. All are identified as "holy convocations." Why then claim that the first one mentioned, namely the Sabbath, is NOT "ceremonial," but ALL OTHERS listed are! Let's interpret the Bible honestly, and in context!

Are Christians Under the Sabbath Law?

Seventh-Day Adventists judge Christians very harshly for not keeping "Sundown Friday to Sundown Saturday." However, the Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians, "Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or A SABBATH DAY – things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ." (Col. 2:16-17)  And yet the SDA church would have us receive the "mark of the beast" for not keeping the Saturday Sabbath. They have therefore made salvation dependent on which day of the week one keeps!

Hebrews, chapter four, shows that the fulfillment of the Jewish Sabbath was not the keeping of the same day by Christians, but the entering of Christians into God's rest. The apostle Paul went into synagogues and preached on the Jewish Sabbath because the Jews were gathered in the synagogue on that day. (See Acts 17:2-4) However, there is no indication whatsoever that he observed the Sabbath with them.  He went there to preach and to reason with these Jews that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God.  The coming together of Christians for worship was always the "first day" of the week, Sunday, the day of Christ's resurrection. (See Acts 20:7)

Conclusions Regarding the Sabbath

There is NO scripture commanding Christians to keep the Sabbath. Surely there would be a command if it was of such importance as to affect our salvation! Christians have always met for fellowship and the breaking of bread on the first day of the week, Sunday, and continue to do so until this day. We do not claim Sunday is the "Christian Sabbath" but rather, the "Lord's Day." Sunday worship was not introduced by the Roman Catholic Church, although they like to take credit for it. Catholics merely carried on where the Apostles left off. The claim by SDA's that Christians are worshiping the sun by meeting on Sunday, is just as ridiculous as us accusing the SDA's of worshiping Saturn, because they meet on Saturday!

We are Not Under Law!

The Law was our tutor, or teacher, leading us to Christ. Galatians 3:25 concludes "we are no longer under a tutor." The Law divided Jews from Gentiles, so Christ abolished it. (Ephesians 2:14-16)

Even the Jews knew the old Covenant and its laws would pass away. Jeremiah 31:31 says, "Behold the days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah." God would write His new law on people's hearts. (vs. 33) Jesus Christ Himself instituted the new covenant. (See 1 Corinthians 11:25), fulfilling and abolishing the old Covenant and its laws. Yes, the old Covenant, including the Sabbath observance is now over. The letter of the Law is finished. Christ Himself is described as the end (Greek, "telos" or "terminator") of the Law. (Romans 10:4)

We will close this subject by quoting Romans 8:2-4, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did; sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin. He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

The 1844 Investigative Judgment Doctrine

The investigative judgment doctrine of the SDA’s teaches that in fulfillment of Old Testament sanctuary typology, Christ entered into the second apartment of the sanctuary in heaven in 1844 to begin a work of "investigative judgment" to see who was worthy of eternal life, both of those still living and those dead.

Ellen G. White, who was heavily influenced by William Miller, an early Adventist, agreed with his date of October, 1844 as the date for the "visible" second coming of Christ. Christ obviously did not return on that date, so in order to "save face" over a false prophecy, White’s doctrine of "investigative judgment" was born. Rather than say1844 was the date when the second coming of Christ was to occur, it soon became the date when the work of FINAL ATONEMENT, which would blot out a believer's sin, would BEGIN.

This teaching is the opposite of the full atonement taught by in the New Testament Scriptures, and also mocks the words of our Savior from the Cross, "It is finished." (John 19:30) Hebrews 10:12 also states "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins, FOREVER, sat down on the right hand of God." Christ paid fully for our sins, atoning for them fully. No Scripture teaches otherwise.

Serious Ramifications of the 1844 Investigative Judgment Teaching

In 1877, Uriah Smith, an early Adventist, declared, "Christ did not make the atonement when he shed his blood upon the cross. Let this fact be fixed forever in the mind." (The Sanctuary and the Twenty-Three Hundred Days of Daniel VIII, 14, p. 276, quoted in "Are the Gospel and the 1844 Theology Compatible?" by Robert D. Brinsmead, p.17).

Ellen White herself declared in "The Great Controversy" that "before Christ's work for the redemption of men is completed, there is a work of atonement for the removal of sin from the sanctuary. This is the service which BEGAN when the 2300 days ended." (October, 1844)  So, Ellen White places the time of Christ's atonement AFTER 1844.

While plagiarizing various writers of her time (or as the Adventists like to call it, "literary BORROWING") she also copied statements teaching that redemption was finished at the cross, and some SDA's like to quote only these references.  But in all honesty, they must admit the SDA view was and is a denial of the atoning work of Christ at Calvary. There is even found in "The Great Controversy" this denial of Him as our absolute mediator. "Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above, are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent effort, they must be conquerors in the battle with evil."

Later in the same book this statement is made, "In that fearful time the righteous must live in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor."

But, 1John 2:1 says, "...And if any man sin, we HAVE an advocate (intercessor) with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

Who Bears Our Sins?

The answer to the above question comes quickly to the Christian because the scriptures plainly teach that Christ "bore our sins IN HIS OWN BODY on the tree." (1 Peter 2:24)  2 Corinthians 5:21 says that Christ was "made...to be sin for us." The SDA go one step further, and say that Christ will in turn lay our sins ON SATAN, and he will bear them! Their interpretation of Leviticus 16, making Satan the scapegoat, is unsupported from Scripture, and is further proof that by using "The Great Controversy" they would add to Christ's finished work of atonement.

Is Jesus Michael?

SDA's persist in perpetrating Ellen White's error that Jesus Christ is Michael. They are quick to point out that they do not believe Jesus is any kind of an angel. Since Michael is called an "Archangel", they interpret this to mean that Jesus is "Chief over the angels," while still being God. However, Daniel 10:13 says that Michael is "ONE OF the chief princes." Is Jesus "one of the chief princes?"  Furthermore, Michael dared not to rebuke Satan (Jude 9). Jesus, on the other hand, repeatedly rebuked Satan. (Matthew 17:l8, Mark 9:25, etc.) Jesus is clearly not Michael.

The Denial of Hell and the Doctrine of Soul Sleep

In the early 1800's, various groups began teaching that hell was not a place of eternal torment. "Soul sleep" or a state of unconsciousness replaced torment. Seventh-Day Adventists embraced this doctrine.

Most of the confusion surrounding the topic of hell, is because the King James Version of the Bible translated three distinct Greek words by the one word "hell". The three Greek words are "tartaros," "hades," and "Gehenna." Let's consider these three words and their meanings.

According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, "tartaros" pertains to "the name of a subterranean region, doleful and dark, regarded by the ancient Greeks as the abode of the wicked dead, where they suffer punishment for their evil deeds; it answers to the Gehenna of the Jews."

"Gehenna" is the name of a valley southeast of Jerusalem.  The Jews so abhorred the place because of the horrible sacrifices of children to the god (2 Kings 23:10), that they threw into it all manner of refuse, even the dead bodies of animals and of unburied criminals who had been executed.  Fires burned constantly in the valley to not only consume the dead bodies, but to keep the air from being contaminated by the putrefaction of rotting flesh.  Thayer’s Greek Lexicon says, "Gehenna" eventually came to refer to the "place in Hades where the wicked after death will suffer punishment: Matt 5:22,29 f; 10:28; Luke 12:5; Mark 9:43,45; James 3:6…"

"Hades," also translated "Hell" occurs ten times in the New Testament and is referred to by three writers, Matthew, Luke, and John as the grave or a place of the dead. Thayer’s Greek Lexicon says, it is "the common receptacle of disembodied spirits." The most detailed information we can find about Hades is in Luke, Chapter 16, where we are told about a rich man and Lazarus. Lazarus died in a righteous condition and the angels took him into Abraham's bosom, to a place of peace and security. The rich man, on the other hand, went to "hades" or "hell," and was in great torment. He was obviously fully conscious of his surroundings and not in a condition of so-called "soul sleep," for the account in Luke records, "The rich man also died and was buried; and in hell (or hades) he lifted up his eyes, being in torment." (Luke 16:21-22). He pleaded for a drop of water to cool his tongue because of the torment of the flame. He could also see the happy condition of Lazarus, but could not leave his place of torment. He spoke about his worry over his five brothers who had yet to die. He wished to spare them his present agony. Yes, this pitiful rich man had all his faculties, and was indeed experiencing ongoing torment.

Is Luke 16 only a Parable?

Groups denying the reality of hell claim the above account of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16) is "only a parable," or is "figurative" or "spiritual." However this account is not a parable, since proper names of recognizable Bible characters are used.  Jesus never used proper names in his parables, and generally indicated when He was teaching in a parable.

Even stretching the point and allowing that Luke 16 could be a parable, it teaches a spiritual truth, and Jesus taught truth, not falsehoods.

Hades is not the Final Destination

"Hades" in the Greek, finds its parallel in the Hebrew word "Sheol." Hades and Sheol (both translated "hell"), are often called the "holding place" by some Bible scholars, since souls in this "hell" are not in their final destination.

Gehenna (Hell) – The Final Destination

The term "Gehenna", also translated "hell" occurs twelve times in the New Testament, and every quote is by Jesus Christ. Six of the twelve references to Gehenna mention fire as one of its characteristics. During Old Testament times, children were offered to the false god Moloch in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, southeast of Jerusalem, and later Jews used this valley to dispose of their rubbish, including, as we mentioned earlier, the bodies of dead animals and unburied criminals. To consume all this, a fire was kept burning continuously, and gnawing worms abounded. It was a vile place. The Jews of Jesus' day certainly had a vivid picture of what being thrown alive into Gehenna would mean for them.

What Did Jesus say about Gehenna?

The words of Jesus in Mark 9:42-48 certainly show the seriousness of the destination of Gehenna. "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched — where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.' And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched — where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'  And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire —  where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'"

The same warning is issued regarding a foot or an eye that would hinder us, that "the fire would not be quenched," and "the worm would not die." Christ stressed that it would be better to lose the most precious things in this life and avoid hell, than to retain all that this life holds dear, and be cast into this dreadful place. Why all these warnings by the Lord Himself, if we are only going to be unconscious?

The condition of so-called "soul-sleep" is obviously not taught by Christ. The inhabitants of hell are not unconscious or annihilated. When we really believe the Word of God as it is written, and don't try to "symbolize" or "spiritualize" it away, it becomes evident that Hell is a very real destination, and its inhabitants are conscious.

Choose Your Destination!

Let's just believe the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:46, that there are two destinations, one for believers, and one for unbelievers. "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." The same exact word in the Greek describes both conditions. Both are "everlasting," "eternal" and "ongoing." We may choose eternal life or eternal punishment and torment. Denying the reality of Hell won't prevent us from going there!

Trusting in Ellen G. White

Seventh-Day Adventism rises or falls on the prophecies of Ellen G. White. We do not need to elaborate on the excellent research already done by her (former) followers, proving that she plagiarized almost all of her writings, even while claiming "visions" from God.  (Seventh Day Adventists want us to believe that White’s use of other people’s material was not plagiarism but "literary borrowing.")

It was hoped by many within the SDA church that the shake-up caused by exposing Ellen G. White’s plagiarism would cause church leaders to renounce White’s false teaching and doctrine. Instead, the SDA church has chosen to ignore the evidence and choose their prophetess and her false prophecies over Biblical teaching.

Therefore the SDA church can rightly be called cult for the following reasons:

1.  Misrepresentation of Jesus Christ as to His person, mediatorship, and atoning work.

2.  Salvation has been "boiled down" to which day of the week you keep. Grace has been contaminated with extreme legalism and works.

3.  The Seventh-Day Adventist church chooses to endorse a proven false prophetess and embrace her teachings, even after the truth has been shown to their leaders.

Seventh-Day Adventists used to like to point out that cult expert, Dr. Walter Martin did not regard them as a cult in his book, "Kingdom of the Cults." However, Dr. Martin has since altered his view, now that all the facts are in. On public television, during "The John Ankerberg Show," he made this statement, "I fear that if they continue to progress at this rate, then the classification of a cult can't possibly miss being reapplied to Seventh-Day Adventism, because once you have an interpreter of Scripture, a final court of appeal that tells you what Scripture means, as soon as you judge Scripture by that, as soon as you have someone who has made doctrinal errors in the past, even on the deity of Christ and the doctrine of the atonement and other things, and that person is raised to that position or authority, you have polarization around that person."

Sadly, we must concur with Dr. Martin. Seventh-Day Adventism has placed itself in the category of a cult.

FAQs

What do you believe, exactly?

+++ Jesus Loves You. +++ Welcome to my website. I am a born-again, fundamentalist Christian and an avid student of end time Bible prophecy. This site is dedicated to exposing counterfeit Christianity, cults, false religions and other diversions and lies which may distract and intrigue and even entertain you, but which cannot save your eternal soul. I believe that Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the Trinity, and that the only way of salvation is through repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior. The bottom line is that whenever our life ends, we will either be with Jesus forever or we will suffer everlasting torment in the Lake of Fire that God has prepared for the devil and his fallen angels. Here is why I believe what I do. Unlike any other book in existence, the Bible has told the future with perfect accuracy for thousands of years and continues to do so. It has never been wrong. This is how God said He would prove that the Bible is His true word and He has done precisely that. For a quick update on events relating to Bible prophecy, check out one of my current favorite sites "RaptureReady.com". +++ Jesus Loves You. +++

Is Jesus Christ God?

Yes. To clarify, the true and only living God, creator and sustainer of the universe is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, commonly known as the Trinity, of the Christian bible. Jesus is the eternal God. He is not a created being. He is the Son of God the Father, but He is also God, the Son, the second person of the Trinity.

Is there any salvation outside of faith in Jesus?

No. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Will Russia invade Israel?

After that, China and it's allies will march into the Middle East resulting in another nuclear confrontation which will result in the death of one third of the world's population.

Do you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture?

Yes.

Which english bible do you trust?

The old King James bible.
